In my last article, I outlined some of the initiatives that the ‘best’ companies are rolling out as they get into shape for 2011. Here’s another initiative that you should be constantly checking/reviewing – “what do I (and therefore my company) look like through the eyes of my customers?”

I hear clients saying, “2010 was really tough, 2011 has to be better”. Why? I think 2011 will be even tougher than 2010 – the Soccer World Cup has gone, unemployment is still unacceptably high, salaries and wages have not increased significantly, consumers are adopting a ‘wait and see’ attitude regarding spending, the new CPA act comes in, the retail landscape is changing, the strong Rand has made our exports very expensive etc. So, make no mistake, 2011 will be very challenging but guess what?
