Shepherd has held Board of directors posts in sectors including medical aid, manufacturing, services, petro-chemicals, motor, media, retail, insurance and financial services for the past 25 years. Of that period he has been CEO/GM for 14 years operating at the coal face to grow, turnaround and stabilize businesses in seven different countries in the SADC region.

His hands-on experience in training, mentoring, coaching and course design spans over 15 years. This culminated in him authoring two books, namely: “Signposts to Service Excellence” and “The Effective Cross-cultural manager – a guide for African business leaders”.

He has exercised leadership in civic and business organizations since the early 1980s in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Having been actively involved in the leadership of the Institute of Directors southern Africa he was at the centre of the launch and implementation of King 1, 11 and 111 codes of corporate governance.

Shepherd is an all-rounded leader with keen ability to impart his enormous range of skills across the African continent.
